In this study, we examined the involvement of T2DM with breast cancer metastasis by a combined approach of a meta-analysis and experimental research. The results of a systematic review and meta-analysis suggested that diabetes significantly increases the risk of lymph node metastasis by 1.10-fold (P  less then  0.01). Consistently, our data from experimental research showed that T2DM induced paracrine effects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), a key contributor to cancer progression, to stimulate metastasis of breast cancer cells (BCCs) by two independent mechanisms. First, T2DM induced the excess secretion of interleukin 6 (IL6) from MSCs, which activated the JAK/STAT3 pathway in BCCs, thus promoting the metastasis of BCCs. Second, beside the EGR-1-/IL6-dependent mechanism, T2DM altered the functions of MSC-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs), which are highly associated with the metastasis of BCCs. Our present study showed that T2DM is a risk factor for breast cancer metastasis, and MSC-derived EVs might be useful for developing a novel anti-breast cancer therapy strategy.The Female Sexual Function Index is one of the most common instruments used to evaluate the female sexual function. The present study aimed to analyze the test-retest reliability, internal consistency, and discriminant validity of the index in clinical samples and to determine a specific and sensitive cutoff point for the Spanish version of the Female Sexual Function Index. For that purpose, a sample consisting of 117 Colombian women was recruited to evaluate test-retest reliability, and a second sample, consisting of 185 women, was divided into diagnosis and no-diagnosis groups based on DSM-5 criteria. Results showed adequate test-retest reliability after four weeks, and satisfactory evidence of internal consistency was obtained for subscale and overall scores. The inventory was found to have an adequate criterion validity, and it confirmed the differences between diagnosis and no-diagnosis groups. The instrument’s cutoff point was determined to be 26 points, with a specificity of 73.9%, a sensitivity of 87.7%, and an area under the curve of 85.9 (CI = 80.0-91.7). Sarma.The present study investigated age-related differences in retrieval from long-term memory using a semantic fluency task in which participants recalled animals during a 5-minute retrieval period. We evaluated the relative uniqueness of items and their output position within the retrieval process to further elucidate how younger and older adults access and retrieve semantic knowledge in long-term memory. Although older (n = 96, aged 56-79, M = 62.44) and younger adults (n = 98, aged 18-27, M = 23.44) scored similarly for retrieval fluency and originality, these abilities tended to decline when we analyzed age as a continuous variable, indicating some preservation in earlier adulthood, but impairment in older age. Additionally, participants tended to recall common, more easily accessible items before unique, less accessible items, and this pattern was more prominent in older adults. A total of 223 nurses participated in this study. The prevalence of anxiety and depression symptoms was 40.8% (CI 95% 34.4%-47.2%) and 26.4% (CI 95% 20.6%-42.2%), respectively. There was no difference in the prevalence of anxiety symptoms among demographic variables. There was significant differences in the prevalence of depression symptoms according to professional titles (P = .020). The mean score of self-efficacy was 25.90 ± 7.55. The self-efficacy was negatively correlated with anxiety (r = -0.161, P  less then  .05). The psychological status of nurses in public hospital during COVID-19 outbreak needs our attention.
