Here, we used whole-genome sequencing to explore the mechanism of Y chromosome deletion and potential therapeutic targets in a patient with infertility. There were no abnormalities in the patient’s medical history. Routine semen analysis showed immotile sperm and only two motile spermatozoa were occasionally see after centrifugation, indicating that the direct cause of infertility was an abnormal sperm count and motility. A Y chromosome microdeletion test revealed partial deletion of the AZFc region, including AZFc1, AZFc2, AZFc3, and AZFc4. Whole-genome sequencing showed that the patient had seven harmful mutations, with only one significant epigenetic mutation, SH3KBP1. Gene Ontology analysis of these meaningful mutations indicated involvement of cAMP signaling pathways. However, the main toxic constituents responsible for hepatotoxicity and the underlying mechanisms are poorly understood. In the present study, psoralen, a main and quality-control constituent of FP, was intragastrically administered to Sprague-Dawley rats at a dose of 60 mg/kg for 1, 3 and 7 days. Blood and selected tissue samples were collected and analyzed for biochemistry and histopathology to evaluate hepatotoxicity. The results showed that psoralen could induce hepatotoxicity by enhanced liver-to-body weight ratio and alterations of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and total cholesterol after administration for 3 days. In addition, histopathological examinations also indicated the hepatotoxicity induced by psoralen. Furthermore, the mRNA and protein levels of hepatic bile acid transporters were significantly changed, in which MRP4, ABCG5 and ABCG8 were repressed, while the protein level of NTCP tended to increase in the rat liver. Taken together, psoralen caused liver injury possibly through affecting bile acid transporters, leading to the disorder of bile acid transport and accumulation in hepatocytes.The aim of this study was twofold. Firstly, it explored the relationships between morningness, Big Five personality traits, depression, and problematic Internet use (PIU). Secondly, it examined the possible mediating role of depression in these relationships. The following measures were used the Internet Addiction Test, the Composite Scale of Morningness, the International Personality Item Pool-Big Five Markers-20, and the Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale. The participants in the study were 398 university students 18 to 30 (M = 20.37, SD = 2.29) years of age. The study found that PIU Total, PIU Mental Disorder, and PIU Time Management Disorder are positively related to depression and negatively related to morningness, Extraversion, Agreeableness, Conscientiousness, Emotional Stability, and Openness. PIU was more often found in individuals with an evening chronotype. The study confirmed the role of depression as a mediator in the relationship of personality traits and morningness to PIU Mental Disorder and PIU Time Management Disorder. For PIU Mental Disorder, the study revealed a full mediation effect of depression in the case of morningness, Emotional Stability, and Extraversion, and partial mediation in the case of Agreeableness and Intellect. For PIU Time Management Disorder, there was a full mediation effect of depression in the case of Emotional Stability, Extraversion, and Agreeableness, and partial mediation in the case of morningness and Intellect. The results highlight the importance of including depression when investigating the relationship between morningness and personality in studies of PIU.β-Thalassemia (β-thal) is one of the most common inherited diseases all over the world. These patients are very susceptible to infection disease, and the mortality and morbidity of infected patients will increase. The object of this systematic review study was to determine mortality and morbidity of infected β-thal patients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). We searched PubMed, Elsevier, and Scholar Google to obtain related papers. The time of search was 21 June until 17 July 2020. All original and review articles and case reports were searched with key words COVID 19, beta or β-thalassemia (β-thal), mortality and morbidity. Data were extracted after quality assessment of all articles. We obtained seven, 21 and six articles from PubMed, Scholar Google and Science Direct, respectively. Finally, seven articles were discussed in our study. The total number of enrolled patients was 34. Twenty-six patients carried transfusion-dependent β-thal major (β-TM). The most common symptoms were fever, cough, pain and dyspnea.
