If you’re looking to keep your baby as close as possible at night, but not have to leave bed, a bedside crib is the perfect solution. The breathable fabric allows you to see your baby clearly and they are simple to lower when you require a 3am feed.
They can also be used as a moses basket too.
What is bedside crib co sleeper ?
A bedside crib, also referred to as a bassinet, or co-sleeper is a baby cot that is attached to an adult bed. This allows your child to sleep next to you in peace. It’s a method of co-sleeping that is safe and does not increase the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) similar to bedsharing and can help you bond with your newborn.
These cots often have a side that can be adjusted so that you can easily reach your newborn throughout the night for feeding and comforting. This is particularly useful for mothers recovering from a c section. Many of them are foldable or portable so you can use them for trips and as an interim solution for infants who aren’t ready to move into a full-sized crib.
When you are looking for a crib that is bedside Look for a crib that has a breathable mattress and a cover to shield your infant from the stains. You may also want to purchase baby-safe items such as an infant blanket or a teether.
If you’re looking for a longer-term option, some cribs have conversion kits that let you turn them into a cot or toddler bed when the time comes. This can extend their lifespan and make the transition a lot easier. Some models have a removable portion at the top that can be transformed into the bassinet. Some can be used with either an adult bed that is standard or a high-rise one. This is a good choice for families that plan on traveling frequently or switching rooms at night. You should also think about the size of your room to ensure you can fit the crib in comfortably. Many cribs have an incline that can be added to create an incline for babies with reflux.
The Joie Roomie Glide
The Roomie Glide, a bedside crib made by the English brand Joie is a wonderful addition to their range of high-quality baby products. The idea behind the product is to allow parents to bond with their infants while they sleep together, without sharing a bed this co-sleeper comes with features that help make bonding between parents enjoyable, safe and easy.

This is ideal for older toddlers or babies who have difficulty settling down. It can also aid with digestive issues like colic and reflux.
The crib can also be fixed to the side of the bed using clips and straps. This makes it solid and secure, allowing you to get a good night’s rest without having to worry about your child sliding off into the middle of the room. The cocoon’s rounded shape features soft padded sides and double mesh windows on both sides to allow plenty of air flow whilst making sure your baby is safe.

Anna discovered that the CoZee was a safe and comfy place to sleep for her baby. She was pleased that it didn’t rock like some other models, meaning it didn’t wake her at night while she was trying to soothe her baby during feedings. She also liked the fact that the side could be lowered so she didn’t need to reach out over her partner to pull the baby to feed her at night.
The CoZee comes in charcoal or oak and is a stylish accessory to any bedroom. It’s more an elegant piece of furniture than some of the other cribs that we’ve tested, which can appear rather utilitarian. It’s also light at just 11kg. It also comes with a carrying case that allows you to take it on holiday or when moving house. The only things you’ll require are a waterproof cover and a co-sleeping safety strap. There are step-by-step directions and illustrations to help you put it together when first opening the box which makes it a one-person task when needed.
The Maxi-Cosi Lora
The Iora is a bedside bassinet that allows parents to feel more connected to their infant as they sleep. It can be adjusted up and down and shifted through three different slide positions to be placed beside the parent’s bed or in the corner to ensure that the infant is always within reach. The mesh siding is breathable, allowing air to circulate through and lets you glance at your baby. You can also store more pajamas and other supplies in the large storage basket underneath.
In contrast to other bedside cribs, the Iora can be folded flat and comes with a carry-on bag so that it can be carried anywhere. Our mom testers found it easy to move from room to room, and believed it was a great size for a small bedside cot, and not too big or small. They also appreciated the large storage basket, that is ideal for storing nappies or bedding.
This is a great option for parents who wish to sleep in a co-sleeping bed, but don’t wish to share their bed. Or if one of the partners suffers from mobility issues, such as back pain or arthritis. Our mum testers were thrilled to be able to easily access their baby while in the Iora and that it included an adjustable reflux incline that helped to reduce gas.
Our mothers love that it follows NICE guidelines. These include placing an infant in the Moses basket or crib on its own, without toys, blankets and pillows. The mattress is also sturdy and comfortable for the baby, and sheets are readily available. It’s not as light as other smaller cribs on our list, so if you prefer something lighter and easier to move, you can choose another option.
