Nancy started her yoga journey in 1995, taking her first class in New York City to help her with her stress management.  An instant passion was born.  Lucky to be exposed to all the great teachers of NYC, she continued taking classes from various yoga disciplines including Anasura, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Jivamukti, and Kundalini.  She received her yoga teaching certificate from Brahma yoga, a descendant of Ashram yoga and Swami Shantimurti Saraswati from New Zealand.  She has a diverse style melting her years of experience into a gentle or strong vinyasa flow experience.  She challenges her students were a variety of warrior series similar to Jivamukti and balancing sequence including arm balances. With her exposure to Iyengar teachers, Nancy works with her students emphasizing proper alignment.  Nancy believes that a strong core is necessary to overcome back issues and delay the aging process so most of her classes will include a vigorous core workout session.  She usually includes pranayama in her classes and ends each class with a focus on being thankful for what we have in our lives.  What does Nancy love about yoga…”continuous growth of the mind, body and spirit.”  Nancy is currently the Yoga Director at Concordia Eco-Resort and teaches both gentle and active classes there on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  She has also started “Baggy Wrinkles” yoga at the Coral Bay Agriculture Center.  This group of local women meet twice a week.  Half of the yoga class fee is donated to a different local charity.  The group was started by Marie Nasiby for “women of a certain age” to have a beginners yoga class designed just for them!!!  Marie selected the Ag Center for its convenient location in Coral Bay.
