Knockdown of miR-205 weakened the influences of silencing circ-ZNF652 on A498 and ACHN cell proliferation, apoptosis and EMT process. Silencing circ-ZNF652 repressed proliferation and EMT process of renal carcinoma A498 and ACHN cells via suppressing Ras/Raf/MEK/ERK and JAK1/STAT3 pathways, as well as raising miR-205 expression.Purpose To complete a scoping review of meta-analyses summarizing evidence of the effectiveness of Tai Chi for adults with health conditions.Materials and Methods Meta-analyses were retrieved from Medline, Embase, AMED, CINAHL, SPORTDiscus, PsychINFO, Web of Science, PubMed Health and the Cochrane Library from database inception to early September 2018. Multistage deduplication and screening processes identified full-length, unique, peer-reviewed meta-analyses. Two people independently appraised 42 meta-analyses based on the GRADE system and organized results into 3 appendices subsequently collated into heterogeneous, statistically significant, and statistically insignificant tables. Results “High” and “moderate” quality evidence indicates that Tai Chi can significantly benefit adults with health conditions including cancers, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, coronary heart disease, depression, heart failure, hypertension, low back pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, Parkinson’s Disease and stroke. Outcomh numerous health conditions. This information can be useful for healthcare providers who wish to recommend effective community-based physical activity to clients they are serving.Korean red ginseng (KRG) has been traditionally used in Korea for health improvement. However, the clinical effect of KRG intake on the symptoms in patients with allergic rhinitis remains unknown. Our study was performed to identify the clinical effects of KRG on patients with allergic rhinitis and to examine the effect of KRG on allergic inflammatory reaction. We evaluated 60 patients with allergic rhinitis. All the patients were treated for 4 weeks. The patients were divided into 3 groups, according to the medication. this website Twenty patients were treated with KRG, 20 patients with the placebo, and 20 patients with the antihistamine. The patients recorded their symptoms in a daily symptom diary card. The patients checked the peak nasal inspiratory flow rate 2 times a day. Total serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) and serum-specific IgE were measured by ImmunoCap method before and after 4-week medication. The Th2 cytokines interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-5, and IL-10 were checked in the serum before and after the 4-week treatment. The eosinophil counts in the nasal smears were checked. Korean red ginseng group has shown the significant improvement in rhinorrhea, nasal itching, and eye itching. Both the antihistamine and KRG groups showed a significant decrease in total IgE level at the end of treatment. The serum IL-4 level and eosinophil counts in the nasal smears were significantly decreased both in the antihistamine and in the KRG groups. In conclusion, KRG might be a useful treatment modality for patients with allergic rhinitis.Pediatricians caring for patients with child abuse or neglect (CABN) may experience secondary traumatic stress (STS) from traumatized patients, or burnout (BO) from workplace stress. This may be buffered by compassion satisfaction (CS), positive meaning from one’s work. For this study, STS, BO, and CS specific to a pediatrician’s care of CABN were assessed for residents, hospitalists, intensivists, and outpatient physicians. Using the Professional Quality of Life Scale modified for CABN experiences, participants (n = 62) had a mean STS score at the 84th percentile, a mean BO score at the 66th percentile, and a mean CS score at the 17th percentile. Reporting one CABN patient as most emotionally impactful predicted STS, caring for all types of CABN predicted BO, and perceived knowledge no longer predicted CS when adjusting for the experience of mandated reporting or CABN fatality. These results highlight the need to support pediatricians involved with CABN.OBJECTIVE Vertigo and dizziness are the common presenting concerns in emergency departments and outpatient clinics, accounts for approximately 15% to 20% of adults annually. We aimed to evaluate economic burden of vertigo on health-care system and work productivity in association between clinic characteristics of in- or outpatients. METHODS A total number of 2289 patients diagnosed with peripheric (noncentral) vertigo were evaluated retrospectively. The direct medical costs associated with vertigo classified as medication, consumable, imaging, and laboratory. In addition, the indirect costs were associated with lost working days. The overall economic impact of vertigo assessed via total expenditure for diagnosis and treatment. RESULTS The mean duration of hospitalization was 5.6 ± 4.3 days and working day lost was 9.47 ± 3.90 days. The overall impact on work productivity of disease was 15.35 ± 6.11 days. The overall mean direct cost including all expenditure items associated with vertigo care was $250.25 ± $1479.62 per patient. The overall cost associated with vertigo was found to be statistically increased in the male, aged ≥65 years, widow or divorced, and hospitalized patients. CONCLUSIONS Our findings clearly indicate that a vertigo-dizziness management program based on patients’ risk factors may achieve to reduce hospitalizations and cost of hospital care as well.OBJECTIVE The 5-level EuroQoL (EQ-5D-5L) is a patient-reported outcome measure frequently used in stroke research. However, it does not assess the cognitive problems many patients with stroke experience. The aim of this article is to compare the content validity, internal consistency and discriminative ability of the EQ-5D-5L with and without an additional cognitive domain (EQ-5D-5L+C), administered three months post-stroke. DESIGN Cross-sectional study. SETTING Six general hospitals in the Netherlands. SUBJECTS In all, 360 individuals with stroke three months after the event. INTERVENTIONS Not applicable. MAIN MEASURES The modified Rankin Scale and EQ-5D-5L+C were administered in telephone interviews three months post-stroke. RESULTS A total of 360 patients with stroke were included. Mean age was 68.8 years (standard deviation (SD) = 11.7), 143 (40%) were female, 334 (93%) had had an ischemic stroke, 165 (46%) had a National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) score ⩽ 4 at presentation and the Barthel Index was 17.
