Pseudoamniotic Bands Syndrome (PABS) was described as iatrogenic complication from in utero procedure as fetoscopy.
The aim of our study was to identify the ultrasound findings in PABS diagnosed prenatally METHODS First, we reported cases of PABS following fetoscopic surgery that were diagnosed prenatally in our institution. We collected all ultrasound data with fetal and neonatal issues. Then, a literature review was conducted by searching the Medline and Cochrane Library computer databases until 2020 to find publications that involve PABS diagnosed prenatally or postnatally. The following keywords were selected and combined “pseudoamniotic bands syndrome”, “fetoscopy”, “fetal surgery”.
We collected three cases of PABS diagnosed prenatally in our center following fetoscopic procedures for complicated monochorionic pregnancies. Among these cases, we reported the following ultrasound findings floating membrane, amniotic bands, striction of limbs, perilesional edema, reduced member size and anomalies of Doppler flow. Including our cases, we reported 23 published PABS of which eight (35%) were prenatally diagnosed. When it was diagnosed, mean GA at PABS diagnosis was 23 weeks (mean interval from fetoscopic to diagnosis was 4 weeks). Three fetoscopic release of amniotic bands were described. The principal parts affected were the limbs, more particularly the extremities.
PABS was accessible to an antenatal diagnosis, as well as ABS. Although it is a rare complication of fetoscopic surgery, ultrasound examinations after procedure should focus on PABS signs to improve prognosis of the neonates.

Adherence to follow-up is an important consideration when treating non-emergent ectopic pregnancy. Our aim was to evaluate the management of ectopic pregnancy among patients in a public hospital system and to identify factors related to adherence of medical management in this population.
A retrospective review to evaluate the management of ectopic pregnancy among women in a public hospital system, including all women undergoing treatment for ectopic pregnancy from 2012 to 2017. Data were abstracted from the medical record. Women who were adherent to follow-up were compared to those who were non-adherent. Log-binomial regression was used to identify factors associated with management type and adherence to follow-up of medical management.
Of 283 women diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, 182 (64.3%) were managed surgically and 101 (35.7%) were managed with methotrexate. Among non-emergent cases, presence of fetal cardiac activity, human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) level ≥5000mIU/mL, ectopic size ≥3.5cm, and multigravid status was associated with surgical management. Among patients receiving methotrexate, 66 (65.3%) adhered to required lab draws 4 and 7 days following methotrexate administration (+/-1 day). Among those receiving methotrexate 45.5% (n=46) were lost to follow-up. Lower prevalence of adherence to follow-up (i.e. lab draws completed until pregnancy levels were negative) was observed among non-Hispanic African American (RR=0.64, 95%CI 0.45-0.94) compared to white women and women with multigravid status (RR=0.67, 95%CI 0.48-0.95) after adjustment.

Emergency Department attendance is increasing internationally, of which a significant proportion could be managed in general practice. In England, policies backed by substantial capital funding require such patients attending Emergency Departments be directed or ‘streamed’ to General Practitioners working in or parallel to Emergency Departments. However, evidence for streaming is limited and the processes of streaming patients attending Emergency Departments to General Practitioners lacks exploration.
This paper explores streaming to General Practitioners in and alongside Emergency Departments at ten sites across England. It highlights positive streaming practice, as well as issues that may contribute to poor streaming practice, in order to inform future service improvement.

Pan-methylarginine antibodies are critical for identifying proteins that are methylated on arginine residues, and are also used for evaluating signaling pathways that modulate this methyltransferase activity. Although good pan-MMA, -ADMA and -SDMA antibodies have been developed over the years, there is still room for improvement. Here we use a novel antigen approach, which involves the separation of short methylated motifs with inert polyethylene glycol (PEG) linkers, to generate a set of pan antibodies to the full range of methylarginine marks. Using these antibodies, we observed substrate scavenging by PRMT1, when PRMT5 activity is blocked. Specifically, we find that the splicing factor SmD1 displays increased ADMA levels upon PRMT5 inhibitor treatment.
