Come on over to the School of the Arts to release tension {YIN} the morning after your 8-Tuff Miles walk or run {YANG}. All levels welcome.
The Physical: By opening the fascia, which encases the muscles, Yin Yoga will allow you to regain the natural range of motion for all areas of the body tightened by running: the hips, legs and the lower back. The intent here is to practice with cool muscles to allow release to go deeper into the connective tissue of the body.
The Mental: In the stillness of Yin Yoga we train the mind to focus and concentrate, allowing us to bring our attention to the breath and bodily sensations. Perhaps even releasing emotions settled in joints and soft tissues.
