    Existing studies have demonstrated that imaging parameters may affect radiomic features. However, the influence of feature calculating parameters has been overlooked. The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of feature calculating parameters (gray-level range and bin size) on the reproducibility of CT radiomic features.

    Thirty-six CT scans from an anthropomorphic thoracic phantom were acquired with different imaging parameters including effective dose, pitch, slice thicknesses and reconstruction kernels. The influence of feature calculating parameters was investigated in terms of three gray-level ranges and eleven gray-level bin sizes. Feature reproducibility was assessed by the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) with the cutoff value of 0.8 and the coefficient of variation (CV) with the cutoff value of 20%. The agreements of reproducible features in different ranges and bin sizes were analyzed by Kendall’s W test and Kappa test. The proportions of reproducible features, in terms of may have a greater influence than imaging parameters on the reproducibility of CT radiomic features, which should be given special attention in clinical applications.

    Late-onset depression (LOD) is often difficult to recognize when there is an absence of a family history of depression and less severe psychopathology. Increasing evidence has shown that the development and course of LOD symptomatology are associated with cerebrovascular comorbidities and cerebral microvascular lesions. This study was designed to evaluate the associations of LOD with macrovascular and microvascular changes in the brain by using a multi-imaging method, including computed tomography angiography (CTA), CT perfusion (CTP), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), to explore the course and pathomechanism of LOD.

    MRI acceleration using deep learning (DL) convolutional neural networks (CNNs) is a novel technique with great promise. Increasing the number of convolutional layers may allow for more accurate image reconstruction.     Carotid body tumors (CBTs) depict the most common paraganglioma of the head and neck that can metastasize in up to 15% of cases. They develop either sporadically or hereditarily and may produce catecholamines (“functioning CBTs”) resulting in associated symptoms like headache, palpitations or flush. Non-functioning CBTs usually present as slowly and often tender growing mass which may affect adjacent cranial nerves. CBTs can be visualized by ultrasound, CT, MRI or angiography. Pre-surgical interventional embolization, surgical resection and radiation therapy are therapeutical options. The aim of this retrospective single-center study is to assess the safe and real-time evaluation of CBTs by contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS).

    Ten patients with CBT were included in this study on whom CEUS was performed between 2007-2018 (mean age 62 years). In 6/10 patients, results were confirmed by MRI, 4/12 patients underwent subsequent angiography. CEUS was performed and interpreted by a single consultant radiologist mented in the future diagnostic work-up and follow-up of CBT patients.

Herein, we report a case of intravascular B-cell lymphoma with hypopituitarism, an extremely rare complication, that was successfully treated with chemotherapy.

    An 80-year-old Japanese woman presented with a 7-mo history of a tingling sensation in the lower limbs. She also presented with various other symptoms such as pancytopenia, high fever daily, and unconsciousness with hypoglycemia. Although the doctor who previously treated her diagnosed hypoglycemia as being due to hypopituitarism, the cause of the other symptoms remained uncertain despite a 7-mo evaluation period. We performed bone marrow aspiration to evaluate pancytopenia and found that she had hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). On the basis of a random skin biopsy for assessing the cause of HLH, she was diagnosed with intravascular B-cell lymphoma.
